Plan Volatility

Category: General

During a plan build cycle the system will take your existing plan and try to improve upon it to give you a better plan, or stick with your existing one. During this cycle it will actually create a number of variants. It then scores each variant to determine the best. The best being a mixture of metrics, including predicted performance outcome, injury risk, and spread of workouts. If it was a simply a case of ‘best score wins’ then your current plan would change on almost every plan build cycle as it is not uncommon for very small improvements to be found often. The issue being that a wildly different looking plan may be better, but only by a very small amount, and so is it worth switching all your workouts for this small improvement. This is where plan volatility comes in, as it determines a threshold of score improvement that must be exceeded for a plan to become your current plan.
