I’ve just recorded a cycle (non-running activity) and my plan has changed. Why?

Category: FAQs

At the present time, non-running activities, for example cycle rides, are not considered for plan building. Consequently, they do not trigger a plan build.

However, there are some situations where this rule does not apply, mainly because of the complexities involved in tracking and updating your fitness profile. This includes handling historical updates and changes to activities, and importantly the converting of a non-running activity to a running one or vice versa.

The most significant and frequent scenario where this exception occurs is when the first activity of the day is not a run and you did not run the day before. In such cases, a build is triggered unexpectedly, which can lead to changes in the existing plan.

For a discussion on why such activities are not considered in plan building, please see our FAQ ‘Are my cycles / non-running activities considered when building my running plan?‘.

If you find such plan rebuilds causing unwanted plan changes, you can always revert your plan. Alternatively you may wish to consider locking your plan in advance.
