Until now, training with TrainAsONE was either race-focussed or maintenance. (Maintenance being the fallback when there were no upcoming races entered into the system.) This presented a problem when you wanted to be actively training for improvement, but did not have a specific race in mind (commonly necessitating the entry of a dummy / virtual race). But now we’re excited to introduce two performance goals: run faster; and run further. Along with an optional indication to the system of your preferred race distance. These are editable on the goals screen and affect your plan when there is no upcoming race.
For example, if you wish to become faster at running half marathon distance, ensure that run faster is checked and additionally select half marathon as your preferred distance. In the scenario of no preferred distance being set, the system will make an informed decision on your behalf. Furthermore, you can select both run faster and run further, in which case the system’s AI will produce a blended plan based on your ability.
