TrainAsONE is excited to announce that we are assisting a team from the University of Bath who are conducting a number of studies into the impact of running apps on people’s mental health and well-being.
Participation in the study requires completion of an online questionnaire and a number of follow-up ones every few weeks (each questionnaire takes around 10 minutes to complete). Additionally, there are two post-run questions on your current mood and stress levels. Answering these as often as possible would be very much appreciated.
If you would like to take part and help with this valuable research please click the appropriate button below.
The research is pertinent to beginner and established runners, and people of all abilities and goals. It is completely free and voluntary and you can withdraw at any time.

As always, but especially under the current global novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please respect other people when out running and always abide by the health guidelines and restrictions in your area.
† TrainAsONE operates both free and paid memberships, and you are able to participate in the study from either. Once registered, you will see a link on your Dashboard inviting you to join the research study from the University of Bath.
I’m part of the study and I’ve an increasing number of not completed post-workout questions on my dashboard. Yet this is apparently the workout adherence, something that a) isn’t a question and b) is paid-only. I imagine it can be sent to the researchers regardless of my membership, as it’s just a calculation based on my plan and the actual workout. I sure don’t mind if they get that data and I don’t, I didn’t pay for it, but it would be a bummer if they need that data and I’m just spoiling their database with incomplete results because I don’t currently want a paid membership.
Hi Henriëtte, don’t worry all free and paid members have access to all the relevant questions required for the study and the researchers do not have any missing data. Thank you for your concern and your support. Take care.
Good to know! Thanks for the reply!
Hi,
How do I opt-out of the study?
Hi Mark, could you leave an in-app message or email Dr Richard Joiner (r.joiner@bath.ac.uk) stating if you wish all historical data to be removed from the study or just to withdraw and not contribute any further. Thank you.
